The MBGN pageant is aimed at promoting tourism, hospitality and entertainment in Nigeria and also promote national/international identity, the winner becomes the role model of the youths as a true Nigerian woman; firmly establish the country as the tourist location, provide exposure for the country on an international platform to improve the image of the country.
The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant began in 1986 and was created by Silverbird Entertainment. Winners have represented Nigeria in Miss World, Miss Universe and other international pageants.
