After years of hosting various concerts around a variety of states in Nigeria, Silverbird stepped into the world of beauty pageants. The unique Name 'Most beautiful girl in Nigeria' formally known as 'Miss Universe Nigeria' was established in 1986.

Over the last 20 years MBGN has become the most popular beauty contest in Nigeria, and produces winners every year who go on to represent Nigeria at high ranking pageants worldwide.

From inception till date, The Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria Pageant (MBGN) has produced queens of international acclaim and gave the world the first ever Black African to be crowned Miss World (Agbani Darego, Miss World 2001).
